Job description
**Machine Operator**
Self-Motivated Machine Operator responsible for set-up, troubleshooting, and operating production equipment in a food processing facility. Ideally familiar with a Form Fill and Seal machine as well as forklift licensed. Must be a team player and function in a safe and productive manner.
Previous Machine Operator experience with food manufacturing equipment in a fast-paced environment strongly preferred. Ability to read, write and communicate in English is a plus. Must have excellent mechanical skills.
Essential Job Functions
- Follow packaging instructions on work order to produce to meet customer’s specifications
- Verify quality of product with QC Lab before starting run
- Visually inspect product during process to ensure quality is correct
- Visually inspect packages while packing to ensure finished packaging meets customer’s specifications.
- 100% responsible for the room including quality, sanitation, cleanliness and productivity
- Complete all all production paperwork including metal detector and weight checks.
- Make sure all safety rules, GMP’s and SOPs are followed
- Communicate with supporting departments (maintenance etc.) to keep machinery running and meet production requirements
- Effectively maintain and or adjust machinery to keep weights correct during the run
- Assist with packaging on lines when needed
- Assign duties as needed to packaging personnel during daily production
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- GED or High School graduate preferred
- Prior packaging machine or machine operating experience required
- Prior experience troubleshooting machine problems and making mechanical adjustments
- Ability to read and understand packaging instructions
- Ability to lift 10 to 50 lbs repeatedly during the shift
- Forklift certified
- Work in an environment that is dusty and may contain spices with high heat
- Ability to control room
- Be able to work on feet for duration of shift
- Regular stooping, kneeling, bending at the waist, reaching
- Ability to work in hot temperatures

Pay: $17.00 - $18.50 per hour
