Under the direction of the Material Damage Department Manager, the Material Damage Claims Specialist performs the essential functions of the position, which includes but is not limited to duties as described below:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The primary duties of this position are to handle incoming and outgoing phone calls, emails and other communications from internal and external customers, vendors, financial institutions and shops related to material damage claims.

  • Review received email and correspondence in Outlook inboxes or other locations and properly save and label documentation within the claims system. Inboxes include but are not limited to:
    • Material Damage Inbox
    • Total Loss Inbox
    • Salvage Inbox
  • Dispatch items in each queue to team members from the appropriate department and set a notification task for them in the claims system
  • Track daily assignment volume across all three department areas to load level claims volume
  • Provide support to the Material Damage Department
  • Answer incoming calls and department status request calls
  • Track, compile and input statistical data for company reports including but not limited to Claim Activity Reports, Cycle Time, DOI Reinspections and IA Vendor volume
  • Maintain and update shared departmental documentation templates
  • Assist Salvage in securing and verifying net pay off amounts with financial institutions
  • Assist Salvage with securing letters of guarantee
  • Assist Salvage with Copart related transactions, reporting, total loss documents and recording financial recoveries
  • Assist Salvage with reporting total loss status to NMVTIS
  • Other duties as assigned/requested

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Ability to develop excellent working relationships with staff, clients, partners and outside agencies;
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Related insurance industry experience a plus
  • Bilingual a plus
  • Proficient use of Word, Excel, Outlook, Web-based systems, and type 35+ wpm
  • Must have a disciplined approach to all job-related activities
  • Must have a solid foundation of personal organization, sound decision making and analytical skills, strong interpersonal and customer service skills

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • This is a non-exempt position which complies with alternative work schedule when applicable
  • This work environment is fast-paced and accuracy is essential to successful task completion
  • This position may require mandatory overtime as deemed appropriate by management
  • The office is that of a highly technical company supporting a paperless environment
  • Travel may be required
  • Requires extended periods of computer use and sitting

Job Type: Remote

Pay Range: $26 – $35/hr with $1000 Sign-On Bonus
