Description

Under the general supervision of the Director of Personnel, the Information Desk Representative/Greeter will provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers upon arrival to the Jules Stein Building for the Department of Ophthalmology. Responsibilities include: * Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and courteous manner. * Guide and direct patients and visitors to the various clinics. * Assist with front desk duties including but not limited to looking up appointments in CareConnect (EHR) for the Ophthalmology Department and troubleshoot any incidents or problems that may arise at the Information Desk. * Ensure the waiting area is presentable and neat. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently with frequent interruptions and minimal supervision, ability to be resourceful, and consistently convey information in a clear and concise manner. Salary Range: $21.93-30.74 Hourly

Qualifications

Required: * Demonstrated work experience in a high volume front desk or medical setting. * Oral communication skills to receive and convey information clearly and concisely. * Ability to clearly speak and write in English using the correct grammar. * Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with faculty, staff, patients and public. * Ability to greet patients and visitors, provide directions, instructions, and guidance upon arrival. * Ability to work with frequent interruptions and complete assignments in a timely manner. * Ability to interact calmly and effectively with patients with difficult personalities. * Ability to multi-task and work alone or as part of a team. * Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations. * Ability to work variable hours as needed. * Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook. * Ability to operate a fax machine, copier and scanner. * Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision Preferred: * One year of experience working in healthcare. * One year of experience with an electronic medical record system (EMR). * Some knowledge of medical terminology.
