Night Operations Coordinator [United States]


 
Summary
Freight moves 24/7 – so it’s critical for Landstar to support our network even outside of “normal’ working hours. The Night Operations team is the first-line of support to keep freight moving. Team members assist internal customers, BCOs (Business Capacity Owners), sales agents, fellow employees, as well as external customers nationwide with service-related issues that could hinder the movement of active freight shipments. You will utilize independent thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve these issues in a timely manner. Location(s):
Long term work at home candidates from the following markets will be considered, Rockford, IL, Jacksonville, FL, Fort Worth, TX, Reedsville, PA, Mesa, AZ, Carnesville, GA, St. Augustine, FL, Indianapolis, IN, Available Shifts: Four days on/four days off shift available from 7PM to 7AM central standard time, including holidays and weekends. Salary Range: Hourly pay starting at $18.28, with OT available

Essential Responsibilities include the following: · Answer after-hours calls for all operational departments deemed critical to keep freight moving

  • Authorize and distribute funds when needed to BCOs for Special Advances

  • Issue authorizations to BCO’s for purchases through LCAPP

  • Payment of invoices sent over after hours in accordance with Landstar policies and procedures

  • Complete Landstar Service Incident Reports (LSIR) on any service-related issues

  • Resolve service-related issues to insure timely delivery of Landstar shipments

  • Assist capacity with equipment breakdowns and freight recovery

  • Provide back up for Safety on the Accident Hotline

  • Handle Overages, Shortages, and Damaged product issues in accordance with Loss Prevention procedures

  • Assist BCOs and agents with issues that occur while crossing the US / Canadian border

  • Help capacity in meeting requirements to enter ports and rail yards.

  • Answer questions regarding state requirements, state permits, and Licensing

  • Help BCOs with Comdata card issues

  • Handle and document safety sitting duck issues and motorist complaints.

  • Issue authorizations and payment to shops for Landstar trailer repairs. Inspections, washes, and set up road calls.

  • Support Managed Accounts as needed. Education and/or Experience Minimum Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Minimum Experience: Previous customer service and/or call center experience. In similar fast pace environment Years’ Experience for full proficiency in role: Six months Certifications and/or Licenses Optional Security Clearance/Type Optional Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to read, write and speak English. Ability to speak Spanish is preferred. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
